Purely Parsons Natural Diaper Rash Remedies

Shannon Tripp Blog Post

This seems minor in comparison to world events, but alas, a question often in my DMs. 🤟🏻

Rashes are mainly annoying and most often not anything to panic over. There’s a large range of causes from viruses, heat, detergents, allergens, moisture, and allergic reactions. It can be hard to determine the underlying cause in some cases, especially for things like eczema.

But we have had great success with treating skin rashes and irritations + finding relief with these natural remedies. In fact, we have been able to avoid prescription medications for chronic skin issues in our house with these!

@emuaid is a must have first aid item in our house. We have used it for many rashes and skin issues over the years. We have never struggled with eczema, but it comes highly recommend for some relief with eczema.

As always, not medical advice-but what we use in our home.

ECZEMA SERIES PART 1 - GUT HEALTH

(future posts to follow include topical skincare products for eczema, household products, and reducing environmental triggers... so please hold your questions on these topics!)

First thing's first... I'm not your provider so I can't give any individual health advice! This information is not medical advice and it's not meant to diagnose or treat your kiddos condition. I'm just shedding light on some of the research to help parents think more critically about possible overlooked triggers for their child's eczema.

If you google 'foods to avoid for eczema' you'll probably see the same few things on repeat - gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts etc. The common food intolerances. And while some people do have these food sensitivities that could be causing their dermatitis... I want you to understand what the gut-skin axis is (look it up to learn more).

Our gut microbiome is in direct communication with the skin. Microbiota in the gut heavily influence skin related immune responses. So any ingredients that disturb the gut, cause inflammation, impair colonisation of healthy bacteria.... CAN be a trigger for dermatitis.

It can seem overwhelming if you're trying to get to the root cause of gut disturbances... feeling like you have to cut out absolutely everything in your child's diet. But I always recommend starting with simple swaps in the home that reduce these unnecessary additives. Choosing a ketchup that doesn't have sugar. Buying real grassfed butter instead of hydrogenated margarine. Eating unprocessed meat. Incorporating as much whole fruit and veg as possible. Swipe through the carousel to see some of our favourite gut-friendly food swaps. 🖤

Our skin can usually tell us what’s happening inside our bodies, and no, I don’t just mean acne! Dry skin, melasma, eczema, and any skin issue under the sun can give us a glimpse into our internal state and nutritional needs.

Kori and I chatted with skin genius Emma, @thenutritioncoach on the Freely Rooted podcast today and it is one of our most information packed episodes to date! we dive into aging and skin spots, topical products, helpful nutrition principles, estrogen dumping, PUFAs in skin care, face mapping, and so much more.

All of the principles we consistently share about metabolism support will directly correlate to skin support, thankfully! And if you are (like me) somebody who needed to clear a lot of estrogen and other toxins from your system and that resulted in more acne, be sure to swipe to see my own progress. I promise it gets better! Check my healing crisis highlight for more of my journey.

(I am still vacationing with my family so will not be able to respond to many detailed questions on today’s post, but I wanted to make sure everybody knew about the amazing info Emma provided on our episode today! You can find the link in my sto
