PAIN RELIEF
The other day carrying pukey linens down the stairs to the wash, I tripped on the rug and in the process of catching myself from flying down the stairs (it’s okay, I laugh thinking about this scene too) I managed to throw my back out and cause a bulging disc.
So, like usual, trying to avoid the pharmaceuticals, I turned to some safe pain management options.
Here’s what I did/am doing—
🔸Turmeric- Turmeric is a powerful anti inflammatory. I’ve been taking DoTERRAs turmeric capsules and @shopwildwholistic Anti Inflammatory tonic (turmeric, ginger, holy basil, and fulvic acid)
🔸CBD-Also a powerful anti inflammatory and pain inhibitor. I am taking the oil and also have a topical gel with CBD I am rubbing on my back.
🔸Copaiba- Copaiba is an oil derived from the resin of copaiba trees and works in a similar way with our endocannibinoid system as CBD oil.
🔸Epsom salt baths- Epsom salt has magnesium which will absorb through your skin, relax your muscles and reduce inflammation. I usually add some EOs like lavender, cypress, or eucalyptus for an extra punch.
🔸@pranamat - these mats are basically acupuncture at home. It stimulates the body to produce a high dose of endorphins, which bond to the μ-opioid receptors in the brain, increases blood flow to your back and spine, and relaxes the muscles.
🔸Deep Blue stick/rub- A blend of oils made for sore or achey muscles. The Stick also has copaiba added for its pain relieving and ant inflammatory benefits.
🔸Arnica gel/homeopathic pellets- arnica reduces inflammation, swelling, and pain.
🔸Water- I’m trying to drink tons of water. Water is what ultimately lubricates our joints and discs, and keeps things fluid and moving.
🔸Movement- Movement is medicine in general. I was instructed by my chiropractor to go on a walk every day to keep the spine fluid and loose!
🔸Chiropractor- a good adjustment helped so much, and usually its not just the lower back that’s out of place, but the entire spine up into your neck. That was the case for me, and after getting everything adjusted, I felt an immediate difference.
Obviously many things can cause pain, but some of these can be utilized for pain in general.
